Part 1 of a 2 part Gold Workshop:

This 2 day class is designed for students who want to take the big step into working with gold! Whether you wish to add some gold to silver or make a simple gold ring, this class will demystify the material and will decrease your fear of the investment. Students will increase their understanding of different gold alloys and colors as well as understand the most cost effective ways to purchase gold. We will discuss working characteristics of yellow gold vs. white gold or red gold.

The class will focus on adding gold to silver for a two-tone look. We can also make a simple gold ring to experience soldering and finishing. Please note, this class is designed to teach you about working with gold, not necessarily to create a finished piece.

Recycling gold, gold testing, pouring ingot and alloying your own gold will be covered in part two.
