2 Day Intermediate Class - November 3rd to November 4th

Instructor: Sherri Haab

Tuition: $425
Kit fee: $25 - paid to instructor

Turn twigs, leaves, seashells and other small objects into copper!  Learn how to electroform with copper to make charms for jewelry.  The class will give you the confidence you need to understand electroforming and also electroplating. We will coat various objects with conductive paints and then electroform them.  Students will be taught how to work with various forms and special requirements needed for each, including how to work with multiple pieces. Plating techniques will be covered in class.

Note: The class includes the use of electroforming controllers that do not require user intervention.  The lecture includes information on how to electroform using a rectifier as is done traditionally for electroforming.  The controllers are not included in the kit but may be purchased after class.

List of Materials in Kit: Varnish, conductive paint, wire, shared supplies for electroforming, plating and finishing supplies. As a bonus the kit will include a roll of epoxy clay which can be used to make rings and other sculptural forms.

Students please bring:  Bring 3-5 small pieces to electroform on.  The pieces must be thoroughly dried if using organic pieces such as leaves, twigs, pods or seashells.

Make sure the piece is no wider than a walnut and 3 inches or less in length. You can also form copper on small objects such as small plastic charms (buttons, crackerjack toys, glass beads, etc).
